6TH GRADE ORCHESTRA
-3RD PERIOD-ALL-YEAR PERFORMANCE CLASS
-4TH PERIOD-12 WEEK ROTATIONS
Where it all begins!
We will start the year learning rhythm, pitches, music theory, and about our instruments. You will need to be sized for your instrument and we will have limited number of each instrument due to ensure we have a full string orchestra when we get back in the classroom. Be sure to have a first choice instrument and second choice!
The 4th period rotation class if for students who would like to try orchestra but it is more of a "second option" elective. At the end of the 12 weeks, students will have the option to transition into a new 4th period class OR join our year long 3rd period performance class!
7TH GRADE ORCHESTRA
Only the Best Year
After almost a full year of NTI and separate rehearsals, this class will FINALLY be able to perform as an ensemble! They have never performed a concert so I'm looking forward to see what this group will accomplish this year!
8TH GRADE ORCHESTRA
Last Stepping Stone before High School
We will start the year finishing Essential Elements Book 2 and beginning Book 3 after in the winter. This group has not performed together since getting distinguished at district assessment in 6th grade. I'm so excited to have them all back together, making music while they still can! This year is your chance to take every opportunity; every chance to make yourself better before high school!

Where the Fundamentals Begin
These are the method book series we use in class. Even if we cannot play in person at the moment, we can still individually perfect our abilities at home. School owned books can start falling apart over time; if you would like to purchase your own set of books to have and practice at home, do it if you can!
